After reading the Ten-Point Platform, how would you summarize the party’s essential message? Do
any of the demands surprise you? What do you agree or disagree with? What do you think people
found threatening? The party's essential message is telling people that the blacks need to be equal and to do so the government need to follow their ten-point flat form. Most of the demands were not surprising because this is what the black community wants and the only way to get it is by making these ten demands. I agree with all of them except for number 8. 8 talks about all black men need to be free from federal, state, country and city prisons and jails. not all blacks should be freed because some of them had committed crimes and should be in jail or prison. I think people found the whole thing threatening because these men gave valid points and might give people the chance to think about the black community and how the government should make a change and do what The Black Panthers' have demanded.
